Private donations made possible the 2016 restoration and painting of the exterior of the Richardson-Bates House Museum, with its ornate architecture and elaborate color scheme. Complete repainting had not been done in 20 years. Future donations are needed for the refinishing of the heavily weathered front door with its deep molding detail and lions head decoration.
